Portuguese dancer and choreographer working on the tension between choreography, sonority and relational space
OCUPAÇÕES
Starting from the Portuguese folkloric repertoire, particularly work songs exclusively sung or danced by women, and their connections with contemporary performance practices, OCUPAÇÕES challenge conventional perceptions of art, women, and folklore, in cross-dialogue with the territory and women of Lamego. During the performance, a parallel is drawn between women's labor in the fields and the technical work in the theater, highlighting both as forms of physical, often invisible, labor that require precision, endurance, and collective effort.
