Portuguese dancer and choreographer working on the tension between choreography, sonority and relational space

O MEU VELHO DIZ QUE MORRE

O meu velho diz que morre is a verse from an ancient folk song that could be translated as "my old man says he dies".

The title serves as a premise for what this show is not.

On stage, the traditional is recreated by placing it in dialogue with other contemporary artistic languages in an exercise of deconstruction and dissonance.

This is a performance that joins a folk group of Guimarães (Grupo Folclórico da Corredoura), students and former students of the Conservatory of Music of Guimarães and also of the Academy of Ballet of Guimarães, consisting of a heterogeneous group of performers, of several generations and with different trajectories and technical knowledge, building a universe where the place is claimed, the meeting is celebrated and death is denied.
